Cardiovascular CT at Concord
The inaugural Cardiovascular CT at Concord Conference was hosted by the Radiology Department of Concord Hospital in November 2006. Due to the success of this initial meeting the conference was held again in May 2008.
This first meeting provided many opportunities and challenges for Conexion. It was crucial for the program to be strong and to appeal to allied health personnel and vendors who provide services in this field of the health industry. Conexion worked with the committee to develop a program to achieve an appropriate mix of hands on workshops and face to face lectures.
With its strong ties with Australia's military history (as a former repatriation facility) a tour along the nearby replica Kokoda Memorial Track memorial hosted by war veterans was a unique and fascinating touch to the event. The conference dinner was held in a marquee in the grounds of historic Rivendell House on Parramatta River which is a heritage property and part of the hospital precinct. The dinner was followed by "Opera at Rivendell" featuring some of Australia's foremost opera performers.
Following the success of the inaugural conference the 2008 meeting was held at the newly opened Rosehill Gardens Convention Centre. The change of venue allowed space for a trade display and the program included additional vendor run hands-on workshop sessions that provided delegates with a means of applying what they learned in the lectures.
Both CCT2006 and CCT2008 received a great deal of industry support and Conexion tailored the sponsorship packages for each sponsor to ensure that their aims were met and their marketing dollars were well spent. There was a marked increase in both attendance and industry support the 2008 Conference with a number of international delegates attending the Conference.
