Australian Subscription Television and Radio Association Annual Conference
The Australian Subscription Television and Radio Association (ASTRA) is the industry's peak body.
Conexion Event Management has been working with ASTRA on its annual conference since 2004 and over this five year period the conference attendance has grown 43%.
The conference program has always featured the who's who of subscription television including presentations from James Packer. In 2008 the speakers included Senator the Honourable Stephen Conroy and Andy Townend (head of the Federal Government's Digital Switchover Taskforce) and other industry experts from Australia and overseas.
The program includes a very popular annual "Women in Television Breakfast" attended by conference delegates and interested members of the industry. The conference also includes a industry exhibition.
Conexion adopts the role of the ASTRA Conference Secretariat, providing a complete service and offering practical advice on ways to improve the event from year to year. Prior to engaging Conexion ASTRA had managed the annual conference in-house, which put enormous pressure on the organisation's internal resources.
