Accor Asia Pacific General Managers and Sales and Marketing Conference
The Accor Asia Pacific General Manager and Sales and Marketing Conference was held across three Accor properties in Brisbane in February 2007. The Conference was attended by General Managers and Senior Sales and Marketing executives from Accor offices in Australia, New Zealand and across the Pacific.
The Conference set out to excite, motivate and educate attendees and the program aimed to stimulate and challenge the thinking of management and employees. The core business sessions climaxed with a presentation by Accor Ambassador, Olympic walker, Jane Saville (who also conducted very popular morning exercise sessions for the earlybirds!).
The social program included a cocktail event and conference dinner and guests enjoyed Australian wines and delectable cuisine while being entertained by world-renowned opera performers, Sylvie Paladino and John Foreman. Olympian Ian Thorpe (who gave an honest and heart-wrenching speech) presented the "I Build Smiles" Awards - reserved for those Accor employees who had been recognised by their peers as providing excellence in customer service.
The sense of passion and camaraderie extended beyond the business and social program into the numerous team building activities held over the three days. These activities culminated when delegates assembled then presented bicycles to 30 underprivileged children from the Smith Family.
The conference was the perfect mix of business development, socialising, bonding, stimulation, motivation and compassion. Attendees were left with a great sense of commitment to each other and their community and ultimately, a better understanding that each and every one of us can make a difference.
